How long does therapy take?
I wish there was an exact answer to this question. The length of treatment is as unique as each client. Some clients stay for several weeks and others stay longer. I will have a better picture of what your treatment might look like once I meet with you. However, this will still be an estimation.
Do you accept insurance?
I am considered an "Out of Network" provider and am not on any insurance panels. Many PPO plans will offer reimbursement for out of network services. I would be happy to provide you with a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement. It is up to you to check in with your carrier to determine benefits.
What is your fee?
My standard fee is $200 per session. I do offer a sliding fee scale for those who qualify. A reduced fee is an agreement between you and me that allows for accommodation to your current financial situation. If that situation changes, your fee is subject to change as well. Please don't hesitate to inquire about potential reduced fees. I accept cash, check, and card payments as well as HSA benefit cards. I also offer reduced fees to students in MFT/MSW/LPCC programs. If you are uninsured or you do not plan to submit a claim to your insurance company, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. I have never been to therapy, what should I expect?
Therapy can be a big step into the unknown--which is unsettling at times. Sessions are typically 45-50 minutes long each week, unless we determine otherwise. You can expect a conversation. Some sessions might be more difficult than others. At times, you might even feel like you don't know what you're going to talk about. Other days you may have a list of things you want to process through.
